Our Flotara Range Of Double Glazing
Uses a clear float glass which is commonly found in mid-late 19 th century windows. We process each pane of glass to size before applying the appropriate size and thickness of lead came to the pane of glass.
This pane of glass is then paired with a low emissivity glass, which refers to a material’s ability to emit heat. Regular glass has a high emissivity (~0.84), allowing most heat to pass through, whereas Low-E
glass has a special coating of microscopically thin metallic oxide coating applied that reduces emissivity to as low as (~0.02), significantly limiting heat transfer.
Think of it as an invisible sunscreen for your home: it keeps interiors cooler in summer, warmer in winter, and protects furniture from fading.
Available In Any Thickness
All of our units of glass are available in any thickness. Our thinnest units we offer are a total of 12mm thick, however our most commonly used thickness is 14mm unit thickness right up to 28mm in the appropriate applications.
We are constantly looking at ways to improve the thickness of our units and regularly review and look at development progresses with new technologies on the market place.
